• Police were called at 1:32pm on October 16 to a report of a serious assault at a Matley Gardens address in Totton, where Nigel Key was pronounced dead.
• The arrested man, 31 and from Totton, was found injured at the scene, taken to hospital for treatment and later sectioned under the Mental Health Act.
• Detectives and forensic teams remain at the property with a cordon in place as inquiries continue to establish what happened.
• Key’s family, supported by specialist officers, issued a tribute describing him as a devoted family man and respected engineer.
