Tottenham Confirms Destiny Udogie as Player Allegedly Threatened at Gunpoint

The club says it is supporting the defender during an active police investigation.

Overview

  • Police were called at 11:14pm on September 6 to Cockfosters Parade in Barnet after reports a man in his 20s was threatened with a firearm, with no injuries reported.
  • A 31-year-old man was arrested on September 8 on suspicion of possession of firearms with intent, blackmail and driving without a licence, and was released on bail as enquiries continue.
  • Investigators were also told another man in his 20s was allegedly blackmailed and threatened by the same individual.
  • Reports say bail conditions bar contact with Udogie, and a travel restriction was varied to allow overseas travel with the suspect expected to surrender his passport upon return.
  • Udogie has continued to feature for Spurs, starting the 4-0 Champions League win over Copenhagen shortly before the club issued its statement.
