Overview
- Totality runs about 19:30–20:53 MESZ, with penumbral entry near 17:27 and full exit from the umbra around 21:57.
- For much of the country the Moon will appear low and very dim at rise, and experts advise waiting 30 minutes or longer for it to clear horizon haze.
- Moonrise times range roughly from 19:37 in Berlin to 20:01 in Cologne, so many observers may first catch it as totality is ending.
- The eclipse is visible across large parts of Europe, Asia and Africa and is safe to view without filters, though binoculars or a small telescope enhance detail.
- Observatories and clubs plan public sessions in places such as Stuttgart, Berlin and Kreuzlingen; if missed, the next total eclipse visible from Germany is on 31 December 2028.
