Overview

  • The Mod Club closed in 2020 due to the COVID-19 pandemic and reopened as the Axis Club in 2021 before announcing its original name’s reinstatement in 2025.
  • Daniel Caesar, who made his live debut at the Mod Club in 2016, will perform an intimate acoustic set on June 14 presented by Billboard Canada and NXNE.
  • The rebrand pays tribute to founders Mark Holmes and Bobbi Guy, who launched the venue as a ’60s UK-inspired rock and funk party series in the early 2000s.
  • Live Nation added the venue to its partnership roster in 2023 and longtime operator Manuel DaCosta now oversees day-to-day operations.
  • Since securing a permanent home at 722 College Street in Toronto’s Little Italy in 2002 the 600-capacity venue has showcased artists including The Weeknd, Amy Winehouse, Muse and Katy Perry.
