Toronto Police Arrest Two in Targeted Home Invasion, Hunt Two Others After Kidnapping

Investigators describe the incident as a planned, targeted attack.

Overview

  • Four suspects carried out a late-night abduction and home invasion in Rexdale, holding three people at gunpoint and returning to the house after initially kidnapping an arriving visitor.
  • Police say the group stole cash, jewelry, clothing, electronics, cannabis and the keys to a red Honda Civic and a blue Ford F-150 before fleeing in those vehicles and an additional suspect car.
  • Officers intercepted one stolen vehicle near Highway 401 and Weston Road, arresting a suspect who pointed a handgun at police; a loaded firearm was recovered.
  • A second suspect was taken into custody after the stolen F-150 was located and Emergency Task Force officers pursued the driver on foot; two accomplices remain at large.
  • The arrested men, ages 30 and 35, both from Toronto, face numerous charges including kidnapping and robbery with a firearm, as police appeal for dashcam and security footage from several west-end areas to identify the remaining suspects and vehicle.
