Overview

• Anthony Marshall Jr., 47, was confirmed to have fatally shot Kathleen Hayes during a break-in at her Southeast Topeka home on May 12.
• Later that morning, Marshall robbed the Equity Bank in Southwest Topeka using a handgun and fled with an undisclosed amount of cash.
• On May 13, a multi-agency pursuit ended after Kansas Highway Patrol deployed stop sticks, disabling Marshall’s vehicle, which crashed on K-4 Highway.
• Marshall died from an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound at Salina Regional Health Center following the chase.
