Johnson is a 6-foot-6 shooting guard from Texas who plays at Link Academy (Missouri), and has been consistently tracked by top schools including Baylor, Texas, Arkansas, Kansas, Alabama, and Kentucky.
Johnson's commitment to Texas makes him the highest-ranked recruit to pick the school since Dillon Mitchell in the 2022 class.
Johnson's commitment also makes him the third-highest-ranked commit in Texas program history, behind Kevin Durant and Mo Bamba.
With Johnson's commitment, Texas now has three recruits in the 2024 class, all ranked inside the ESPN 100.
