Top Prospect Matt McLain Called Up By Reds, Will Play Infield

The Cincinnati Reds have promoted their top prospect, infielder Matt McLain to join the big league team.
McLain was the No. 17 overall pick in the 2021 MLB Draft out of UCLA.
He is expected to play shortstop and second base for the Reds.
There are questions about whether McLain will stick at shortstop long-term, but he is viewed as an elite defensive secondbaseman.
McLain will join the Reds during their series against the Colorado Rockies this week.
