Tony Etz, Longtime CAA Agent and TV Producer, Dies at 64
Etz, known for his work on hit TV series and made-for-TV movies, passed away after a lengthy battle with cancer.
- Tony Etz, a 30-year veteran of Creative Artists Agency (CAA), died on March 10, 2025, in Los Angeles after battling Chordoma, a rare form of cancer.
- Etz was instrumental in packaging iconic TV series such as 'Lost,' 'House,' 'Big Little Lies,' 'Grey’s Anatomy,' and 'Band of Brothers.'
- Before joining CAA in 1994, he produced several made-for-TV movies, including NBC's successful Jack Reed telefilms starring Brian Dennehy.
- A fourth-generation Knox College alumnus, Etz served as chairman of its Board of Trustees and helped establish the Etz Family Institute for Civic Leadership and Dialogue in 2024.
- Etz is survived by his wife, fellow CAA agent Nancy Axelrode, their son Alex, and other family members; donations in his memory can be made to the Knox Fund.
