- TomTom and Microsoft are developing an AI voice assistant for vehicles, enabling drivers to interact with location search, infotainment, and vehicle command systems.
- The AI assistant uses multiple Microsoft products, including its Azure OpenAI Service, Azure Kubernetes Services, Azure Cosmos DB, and Azure Cognitive Services.
- The technology is already integrated into TomTom’s Digital Cockpit, an in-vehicle infotainment platform, and can also be integrated into other automotive infotainment systems.
- TomTom and Microsoft have been working together since 2016, when TomTom began powering Azure Maps location services.
- TomTom and Microsoft will demo the conversational AI at CES in Las Vegas in January to global OEMs and other interested parties.
