Tompkins Square Halloween Dog Parade Returns Oct. 19 for 35th Year

Registration opens Oct. 6, with wristbands required for entry to the parade or the costume contest.

Overview

  • New York Dog Parade, a 501(c)(3) founded by Fern Watt, is producing the event with support from Stella & Chewy's.
  • Registration to march or compete opens at midnight on Oct. 6 on a first-come, first-served basis, and wristbands will be required.
  • Four adoptable dogs from ASPCA, Social Tees and Pup Starz will serve as grand marshals to highlight pet adoption.
  • A festival block on Sixth Street between Avenue B and Avenue C will feature treats and activations from sponsors, including Stella & Chewy's.
  • The parade runs 1–4 p.m. in the East Village, is free to attend, and organizers are coordinating safety and crowd control with city and community partners.
