Tom Pelphrey Says Family Visits Made HBO's Task Feel Like Home

Proximity to his hometown made frequent family visits possible during the Pennsylvania shoot.

Overview

  • In a new PEOPLE interview, Pelphrey says fiancée Kaley Cuoco and their 2-year-old daughter, Matilda, visited him on the Delaware County, Pa., set and helped create a home-like atmosphere.
  • He rented a nearby house where Cuoco and Matilda stayed, and he recalls weekly visits from his mother plus time with Matilda’s grandmother and great-grandmother.
  • The location near his roots in Howell Township, N.J., also brought aunts, other relatives, and lifelong friends to the set and the rented home.
  • Task premiered on HBO on Sept. 7, with new episodes airing Sundays at 9 p.m. ET/PT and streaming simultaneously on HBO Max.
  • In separate remarks to The Independent, Pelphrey said balancing acting with parenting can be hard to juggle, though he emphasized that the positives outweigh the negatives.
