• This World of Tomorrow marks Tom Hanks's return to live theater after more than a decade, following his Tony-nominated role in Lucky Guy in 2013.
• The play, directed by Tony Award-winning director Kenny Leon, will run from October 30 to December 21 at The Shed's Griffin Theater in New York City.
• Hanks co-wrote the production with playwright James Glossman, based on short stories from his 2017 collection, Uncommon Type.
• The story follows Bert Allenberry, a future scientist who repeatedly travels to the 1939 World's Fair in Queens in search of love.
• Tickets for the limited engagement go on sale July 24, with a presale for Shed members starting July 15.
