Tom Hanks and Rita Wilson Donate $1 Million to Support L.A. Wildfire Relief

The couple's contribution will aid recovery efforts and first responders following January's devastating wildfires in Southern California.

Tom Hanks and Rita Wilson announced a $1 million donation to five organizations aiding wildfire recovery and first responders in Los Angeles County.
The donation will support the Motion Picture and Television Fund, Los Angeles Fire Foundation, SAG-AFTRA Foundation Disaster Relief Fund, American Red Cross, and MusiCares.
The January wildfires, including the Palisades and Eaton Fires, burned over 57,000 acres, destroyed more than 16,000 structures, and caused at least 29 fatalities.
The couple expressed gratitude to firefighters and first responders who worked tirelessly to protect lives and homes during the blazes.
Hanks and Wilson encouraged others to contribute to the recovery efforts, emphasizing the immense challenges facing affected communities.
