Tom Gray Selected as Labour Candidate for Brighton Pavilion, Eddie Izzard Loses Bid

Eddie Izzard, comedian and activist, has failed in her bid to become the Labour candidate for Brighton Pavilion at the next general election.
Musician and activist Tom Gray, known for his band Gomez and activism in the music industry, has been selected as Labour's candidate.
This is Izzard's second failed attempt to stand as an MP, after she campaigned to be Labour candidate for Sheffield Central last year.
Green MP Caroline Lucas, who has held the Brighton Pavilion seat since 2010, will stand down at the next election.
Izzard had promised to fight for a 'passion-driven creative education system', increase the supply of affordable homes, secure more money for the NHS and champion mental health if she was selected.
