Overview
- The Tokyo Metropolitan Police on Sept. 26 announced the arrests of Daichi Suzuki, 22, Kanako Sato, 24, Souta Shimazaki, 21, and a 19-year-old restaurant worker on suspicion of forcible intoxication robbery.
- Investigators say the group summoned the victim by phone in Nakano Ward on June 5, forced him to drink more than 700 milliliters of whiskey, stole his smartphone, and recorded sexual acts while he was incapacitated.
- The smartphone was returned the next morning, but about ¥100,000 in e-money had been spent, which police believe went to food and transport.
- Police say Sato met the man via social media over an anime interest, noticed his disability, and introduced him to the others, who were friends connected through SNS.
- The suspects have admitted aspects of the conduct, telling police they teased the victim and tried to get money, with one account saying his drunken state was “funny,” and the case came to light after the family sought police help.
