Overview

• The Tokyo Metropolitan Assembly released its FY2024 report on August 28 showing a 91.0% execution rate, down 3.6 points from FY2023 but marking a seventh straight year above 90%.
• Of the ¥736 million allocated, ¥669.47 million was spent and ¥66.52 million was returned.
• Spending was led by publicity materials at about ¥307.6 million, accounting for 45.9% of outlays, followed by personnel costs of ¥239.42 million at 35.8%.
• Inspection and training expenses reached ¥5.28 million, rising for a fourth consecutive year and exceeding the pre-pandemic FY2019 level after a sharp drop in FY2020.
• Party execution rates varied: the Constitutional Democratic Party used its entire allocation for a second year, the LDP reached 97.1%, the JCP 92.0%, Tomin First 84.6%, and Komeito 83.7%.
