Overview

• The Yamabiko 63 train stopped after a mechanical failure between Ōmiya and Oyama in Kuki, Saitama, around 2:10 p.m. JST.
• JR East suspended operations in both directions on the Tokyo–Morioka section following the stoppage.
• Approximately 560 passengers were on board, and no injuries were reported.
• Air-conditioning remained in service on the stranded train, and no passengers reported illness.
