Tohoku Expressway Crash Leaves 2-Year-Old Critical as Police Detain Fleeing Driver

Investigators are examining why a car remained in the passing lane after striking a guardrail.

  • Tochigi police detained a foreign man around 12:40 a.m. on Sept. 14 believed to have been the driver who fled, and the affected stretch was closed for more than four hours.
