Overview

• The crash occurred just after 7 p.m. Saturday at 400 Broadway in Taunton, with both vehicles heavily damaged.
• An initial review found the blue Toyota RAV4 appeared to have struck the white Chevy van head-on.
• A girl not yet two years old was taken to a hospital and was pronounced dead shortly after arrival.
• The 25-year-old RAV4 driver was transported to Rhode Island Hospital in stable condition, and a 5-year-old girl was taken to an out-of-state trauma center, also in stable condition.
• Four men in the van remained on scene without visible injuries as the Bristol County District Attorney’s Office, the State Police detective unit, and Taunton Police continue the investigation.
