Titans' Quarterback Ryan Tannehill Out for Sunday's Game Due to Ankle Injury, Uncertainty Over Replacement Between Will Levis and Malik Willis

Rookies Malik Willis and Will Levis anticipated to play but no official starting quarterback announced for Week 8 against Falcons; Tannehill's ankle sprain follows previous season’s re-injury.

  • Titans' quarterback Ryan Tannehill has been ruled out of Sunday's game against the Atlanta Falcons due to a high ankle sprain, the same injury he suffered twice last season.
  • Tennessee Titans' head coach Mike Vrabel has confirmed that rookies Malik Willis and Will Levis will play, but has not announced who will be starting the game.
  • Malik Willis, second-year pro, has prior game experience, having played in 10 games with three starts. He completed four of five passes for 74 yards when he replaced Tannehill in Week 6.
  • Will Levis, a second-round draft pick this year, will be seeing his first regular-season action. He has been preparing to start and has 23 tickets reserved for family and friends to watch his debut.
  • If Levis starts, it will mark the most rookie QBs, seven in total, to start in the first eight weeks of an NFL season since the merger, excluding the 1987 replacement player season.
  • Alongside Tannehill, the Titans have also ruled out rookie tight end Josh Whyle due to concussion protocol complications, and cornerback Roger McCreary is questionable with a hamstring injury.
