Titans May Utilize QBs Malik Willis and Will Levis in Week 8 if Ryan Tannehill Can't Play Due to Ankle Injury

Possible two-quarterback game plan as Titans face woeful 2-4 season and consider resting Tannehill with an ankle injury similar to one he suffered last season: experienced backup Malik Willis and rookie Will Levis slated to share first-team reps.

  • Ryan Tannehill, the starting quarterback for the Tennessee Titans, failed to practice due to an ankle injury on Tuesday and might not be able to play in Week 8 against the Atlanta Falcons. The ankle injury is similar to the one he suffered in the last season.
  • In Tannehill's absence, coach Mike Vrabel is considering a two-quarterback game plan deploying Malik Willis and rookie Will Levis, who shared first-team reps in Tuesday's practice.
  • Last season, Willis played in eight games and relieved Tannehill in a match against the Baltimore Ravens, while the latter suffered his current ankle injury during this match.
  • Will Levis, the rookie quarterback, was the 33rd overall pick for the Titans in the 2023 NFL Draft. A thigh injury in August, however, hindered his pre-season performance.
  • Despite the Titans being in a woeful 2-4 season, they have a sequence of three consecutive road games coming up, including a challenge against the Steelers next Thursday in Pittsburgh.
