Overview

  • Over the weekend Gray was driving a utility terrain vehicle in Tennessee and sustained a concussion and minor injuries, the Titans said.
  • Team and media reports say alcohol and reckless driving are not believed to have been factors in the crash.
  • The club placed Gray in the NFL concussion protocol on Monday which requires step-by-step progression and final clearance from an independent neurological consultant and the team physician.
  • Gray’s availability for the Titans’ Week 1 game against the New York Jets on Sept. 13 is uncertain and the team must rely on linebackers Cody Barton, James Williams Sr., rookie Anthony Hill Jr., and recent addition Owen Pappoe if he cannot play.
