Overview
- The Tirupati–Raxaul Express was formally flagged off as a regular weekly service on Monday and assigned train numbers 17433 (Tirupati to Raxaul) and 17434 (return).
- The train covers about 2,795 km and completes the journey in roughly 59 hours while passing through key junctions including Renigunta, Kadapa, Guntakal, Secunderabad, Bilaspur and Ranchi.
- Tirupati Station Director Divisional Commercial Manager Mohan Krishna announced that fares have been reduced to about 1.3 times cheaper than when the service ran as a special train.
- Train No. 17433 will depart Tirupati every Monday at 8:15 am and reach Raxaul on Wednesday evening, with Train No. 17434 leaving Raxaul on Thursday to arrive back in Tirupati on Saturday morning.
- South Central Railway’s regularisation aims to lock in permanent direct connectivity between Tirupati and destinations across Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, Chhattisgarh, Jharkhand and Bihar, a change officials say will help pilgrims, students and business travellers and strengthen links to the Indo‑Nepal border at Raxaul.
