Tiruchendur Temple Finalizes Security, Transport Arrangements Ahead of July 7 Kumbabhishekam

Overview

  • Patrol vehicles equipped with 360-degree cameras, GPS-enabled motorcycles and drones have been deployed across Tiruchendur to monitor pilgrim movements and maintain order.
  • Indian Railways and Southern Railway are running special trains, while TNSTC is operating around 6,000 special buses alongside regular services to ferry devotees from major Tamil Nadu cities.
  • Three temporary bus stands at Vettaivelimadam, opposite P. Sivanthi Adithanar Manimandapam and Theppakulam are in operation to streamline arrivals and departures.
  • A team of priests has begun the final yagasala pujas and homams as part of the elaborate vedic ceremonies leading up to the morning consecration on July 7.
  • Authorities have set up drinking water points, medical camps and shelters to ensure the safety and comfort of thousands of pilgrims attending the once-in-12-year event.
