  • West left roughly £60,000 in charitable gifts, including £15,000 to the Combined Theatrical Charities Appeals Council and £10,000 apiece to the Bristol Old Vic and Theatre Royal Trust, Southwark Cathedral, the Snipe Charitable Trust and Médecins Sans Frontières UK, plus £5,000 to the Guide Dogs for the Blind Association.
  • A March 2024 amendment alongside his wife Prunella Scales awarded their son Samuel West £300,000 to aid the renovation of his home.
  • The gross estate was valued at £221,425, reduced to £109,892 after debts and taxes, leaving £29,892 for his wife Prunella Scales.
  • West died on November 12, 2024, aged 90, after suffering a fall near his Wandsworth Common home that led to a traumatic brain injury and a three-month hospital stay.
  • Married to Prunella Scales for 61 years, he is survived by his wife, two sons, a daughter, seven grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
