Timbers fire head coach Giovanni Savarese after 5-0 loss

The Portland Timbers have parted ways with coach Gio Savarese.
Savarese had been the Timbers' coach since 2018 and led them to two MLS Cup finals.
The decision comes after the Timbers' 5-0 loss to the Houston Dynamo.
Savarese won the MLS is Back Tournament with the Timbers in 2020.
Assistant coach Miles Joseph will serve as interim head coach.
