Tim Westwood Charged With 15 Sexual Offences Dating Back to 1983

Prosecutors say the case meets the evidential test, with a first court appearance set for November.

Overview

  • The Crown Prosecution Service authorised charges after a Metropolitan Police investigation, citing four counts of rape, nine of indecent assault and two of sexual assault.
  • The allegations involve seven women and span from 1983 to 2016, with one complainant aged 17 at the time of an alleged offence.
  • Police outlined the alleged incidents by year and location, including Fulham (1983), Vauxhall (1986), central London and elsewhere in London (1995–96 and 2000–01), London (2010), Stroud (2010) and Finchley (2016).
  • Westwood, 68, is due to appear at Westminster Magistrates’ Court on Tuesday, 11 November.
  • The CPS said there is sufficient evidence and a public‑interest basis to prosecute, the Met says the investigation remains open and invites further information, and Westwood has previously denied wrongdoing.
