Tiffany & Co. Acquires Historic Titanic Pocket Watch for $1.97 Million

Tiffany & Co. purchased an 18k gold pocket watch at auction for $1.97 million, making it the highest-valued Titanic memorabilia ever sold.
The watch was originally gifted by three Titanic survivors to Captain Arthur Rostron of the RMS Carpathia for rescuing nearly 700 passengers in 1912.
The timepiece was sold by Tiffany & Co. in 1912 and features an engraved dedication expressing gratitude from the survivors to Captain Rostron.
Tiffany plans to publicly display the watch at LVMH Watch Week in Los Angeles in January 2025 and at select store openings in the future.
The acquisition highlights Tiffany's ongoing efforts to preserve its historical legacy and showcase its role in significant moments of history.
