  • Ticket sales opened on January 12, with some classes on new routes selling out quickly online, including business-class seats to Nanjing South on January 26.
  • Sixteen additional mainland destinations will begin direct service from West Kowloon on January 26, lifting the network’s reach to 110 cities.
  • The new links concentrate on Guangdong and the Yangtze River Delta, adding nine Guangdong stops and long-haul options such as Nanjing, Wuxi and Hefei.
  • The Hong KongShanghai Hongqiao sleeper train will shift from a limited weekly pattern to daily departures in response to demand.
  • MTR says selected routes will see more frequent trains, including services to and from Guangzhounan, after coordination with HKSAR departments and mainland railway authorities.
