Tibia to Introduce Its First New Class in 28 Years: The Monk

The 1997 MMORPG will add the melee and healing-focused Monk class, marking a historic update for the long-running game.

Tibia, one of the oldest MMORPGs, is adding a new class called the Monk for the first time since its 1997 launch.
The Monk class will specialize in melee combat and mystical abilities to heal allies and defeat enemies.
CipSoft, Tibia's developer, described the addition as an opportunity to bring a fresh sense of discovery and strategy to the game.
Player testing for the Monk class will begin on February 25, with a full release planned for later in 2025.
This update follows Tibia's history of gradual evolution, including the addition of sound in 2022 after 25 years.
