Overview
- Since June 3, Tianguis del Bienestar has delivered more than 1.46 million new items and 63.2 tonnes of seized goods to over 35,797 families in 74 communities across Guerrero and Oaxaca.
- Target municipalities were chosen based on high levels of marginalization and remoteness to address root causes of violence under the government’s prevention strategy.
- The initiative is coordinated by the Secretaría de Gobernación under Rosa Icela Rodríguez and subsecretaria Rocío Bárcena, with support from the Defense Ministry, Guardia Nacional, SAT, Indep and other agencies.
- In Guerrero, 22,204 families across 15 communities have benefited, while 13,593 families in 59 Oaxacan communities have received essential goods.
- The program will resume from August 4 to 6 in Ayutla de los Libres and from August 7 to 8 in Tlapa de Comonfort, both in Guerrero.
