Overview

• During the first summer weekend as part of Roadpol’s Europe-wide enforcement week, Thüringer Polizei conducted extensive traffic controls across all regions of the state.
• Officers detected exceptionally high blood alcohol levels, including a 74-year-old E-scooter rider at 2.45‰ and another 74-year-old driver at nearly 2‰.
• Law enforcement found a 62-year-old motorist in Gera and an Opel driver in Pößneck operating vehicles without licenses and under the influence of alcohol and illicit drugs.
• A 24-year-old in Mühlhausen was stopped twice within hours with readings of 1.14‰ and 0.8‰ after his license was confiscated.
• Authorities have yet to release the total number of checks as officials compile data for the week-long initiative aimed at reducing traffic fatalities.
