• Police received a 119 call from the father around 1:35 p.m. on August 24 reporting a fall at a condominium in Akebono 1-chome, Sawara Ward.
• The child was found on the roof above the building’s shared first-floor entrance directly below the family’s balcony.
• She was transported to a hospital in an unconscious state and was soon confirmed dead, according to the Sawara Police Station.
• Authorities say they believe she opened a locked window and climbed a roughly 1.2-meter balcony railing before falling.
• At the time, both parents and an older sister were at home, and the girl was in a separate room, with police continuing to examine the circumstances.
