Three Top CAA Film Agents Reportedly Defecting to WME
The reported moves come during the industry's late-year contract cycle.
Overview
- The Hollywood Reporter says Adam Schweitzer, Matt Martin and Trevor Astbury are leaving Creative Artists Agency for WME, which is led by Richard Weitz and Christian Muirhead.
- Schweitzer, previously co-head of talent at ICM, joined CAA after its $750 million purchase of ICM in 2022 and is reported to represent Rachel Zegler, Rebecca Ferguson, Cillian Murphy and Christoph Waltz.
- Martin has been a CAA motion picture literary agent since 2010 and represents filmmaker Dean Fleischer Camp as well as John Francis Daley and Jonathan Goldstein.
- Astbury joined CAA in 2014 after more than a decade at Paradigm and is said to represent Travis Knight, Louis Leterrier, Jon Spaihts and Eric Heisserer.
- No reason for the defections has been confirmed, with THR noting the timing aligns with common contract negotiations and that the situation remains developing.
