Three Teens Arrested After Roseville Carjacking; Chase Ends With Suspect Found in Sam’s Club Restroom

Prosecutors will decide by Dec. 1 whether to charge the teens, ages 14 to 16, as adults.

Overview

  • Police say the carjacking occurred Monday around 1:30 p.m. near Masonic and Gratiot outside an Applebee’s, where two elderly women were confronted.
  • At least one suspect displayed a knife and demanded keys from a 67-year-old woman before the trio fled in her vehicle.
  • Officers quickly located the car on Gratiot near I-94, and a brief pursuit ended in a collision with an uninvolved driver with no injuries reported.
  • The driver was arrested after running from the crash, a second teen was caught after a foot chase, and a third was found hiding in the men’s restroom at the Roseville Sam’s Club.
  • All three are lodged at the Macomb County Juvenile Justice Center as the investigation proceeds and charging decisions are prepared.
