Three Suspects Charged After Rossmere Gun and Drug Trafficking Raid

The highly coordinated July 20 operation relied on drones with tactical support to seize more than $112,000 in narcotics alongside a loaded handgun

Winnipeg Police Service’s Guns and Gangs Unit launched an investigation into firearm and drug trafficking in the Rossmere neighbourhood.

Overview

  • Police executed search warrants in the 200 block of Devon Avenue, recovering over $112,000 worth of illicit drugs including significant quantities of cocaine, crack cocaine, MDMA, psilocybin and hydrocodone along with scales and packaging materials.
  • Investigators also seized a loaded handgun and an empty 50-round drum magazine during the Rossmere raid.
  • Two men aged 26 and 29 remain detained on charges such as possession for the purpose of trafficking, unauthorized firearm possession and possession of property obtained by crime.
  • A 43-year-old woman faces similar trafficking and firearms offences and was released on an undertaking.
  • A separate July 30 North End operation netted nearly three kilograms of methamphetamine, hundreds of grams of fentanyl and cocaine, a loaded 9mm handgun and over $55,000 in cash.
