Three Students Held Over Alleged Voyeurism at MP College With Fourth Suspect at Large

Police are reviewing seized phones following CCTV-led arrests in an alleged voyeurism case at a Madhya Pradesh college.

Overview

  • Three BA third-year students were arrested after CCTV allegedly showed them peeping into a changing area during a youth festival at Maharaja Yashwant Rao Holkar Government College in Mandsaur.
  • Police said four students were involved, three were taken into custody and sent to judicial custody, and one suspect remains absconding.
  • Officers registered a case under Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita provisions for voyeurism and group offences and sent the seized mobile phones for forensic examination.
  • A senior police officer said no evidence has yet been found that recordings were made, while the ABVP claimed the students took no images and were checking a room they suspected for other activities.
  • Those arrested were identified as ABVP office-bearers Umesh Joshi, Ajay Gaur and Himanshu Bairagi, and the group removed Joshi from his post as political condemnation followed the footage circulating online.
