Three South Dakota Men Sentenced in Separate Child Exploitation Cases
The U.S. Department of Justice announced the sentencing of three individuals for crimes related to child exploitation and pornography.
- James W. Williams was sentenced to four years in federal prison for possession of child pornography, following a Cybertip related to his Instagram account.
- Timothy Scott White received a 45-year sentence for multiple charges including sexual exploitation of a minor and attempted enticement of a minor using the internet.
- Burton Dave Chief, Jr., was sentenced to 11 years for attempted enticement of a minor using the internet, as part of an undercover sex trafficking operation.
- All three men will be required to register as sex offenders under the Sex Offender Registration and Notification Act.
- The cases were part of Project Safe Childhood, a DOJ initiative aimed at combating child sexual exploitation and abuse.
