Overview
- London Ambulance Service was called at 1:07 a.m. to the junction of Charing Cross Road and Phoenix Street and treated three people.
- One patient was taken to a major trauma centre and two to local hospitals, with all three reported as seriously injured.
- The collision involved a pedicab and a double-decker bus in the West End, close to theatres and major tourist sites.
- Sections of Charing Cross Road were closed and night-bus diversions were put in place while police and forensic teams examined the scene.
- Inquiries are being led by officers from the Met’s Alperton Traffic Garage and Forensic Collision Investigation Unit, as debate over pedicab regulation follows new standards passed in 2024.
