Three Senior Maoists Surrender in Munger, Hand Over Rifles and Ammunition

Officials credit sustained operations plus a surrender policy for shrinking insurgent influence in Bihar.

  • Police said Narayan is named in 23 cases, Bahadur in 24 and Binod in three related to attacks on personnel, and all three were sent to Munger district jail.
  • Under the surrender-cum-rehabilitation scheme, eligible family members and the cadres will receive the reward amounts, Rs 2.5 lakh incentives, a Rs 10,000 monthly stipend for three years and Rs 1.11 lakh for surrendered arms.
  • DGP Vinay Kumar said Maoist influence has been reduced to partial presence in four districts following sustained counter-insurgency efforts.
