Overview

  • Daishaun Hughes-Murchison, Brian Wallace and Trayvine Jackson face Hobbs Act and firearms charges for allegedly stealing more than $2 million from a Brinks armored truck on June 21 in Port Richmond.
  • Court filings accuse Trayvine Jackson, a former Brinks employee, of using insider access to facilitate the robbery; authorities have seized multiple long guns, handguns and nearly all of the stolen cash.
  • On August 12, two armed suspects robbed a Brinks vehicle outside the H Mart in Elkins Park, escaping with an estimated $700,000 to $800,000 while leaving the driver unharmed.
  • Surveillance footage captured the suspects fleeing in a black Acura TLX, which was later found abandoned in Fairmount Park, and investigators are comparing those leads with earlier armored-truck heists dating back to June.
  • The FBI’s Philadelphia field office has formed a joint task force with local police and the U.S. Attorney’s Office to determine if this week’s robbery is linked to a series of armored-car attacks exploiting routine delivery stops.
