Overview

• Nearly 50 overnight car burglaries occurred in Livermore between May 5 and June 3, with suspects targeting front passenger windows to steal wallets, electronics and other personal items.
• Investigators used downtown surveillance footage to identify a 12-year-old boy, a 14-year-old girl and a 15-year-old boy as the alleged perpetrators.
• Police say the trio may have carried out additional auto burglaries and vehicle thefts in the region before the spree documented by local law enforcement.
• After executing search warrants at the minors’ homes, officers recovered stolen property and Juvenile Hall declined to detain the youths, who were cited and released to their parents.
• The Alameda County District Attorney’s Office Juvenile Probation Department has received the case and will determine whether formal charges are warranted.
