Three Michigan Brothers Declared Dead 14 Years After Disappearance

A judge granted their mother’s request to formally acknowledge their deaths, while their father, long suspected by investigators, has not been charged with murder.

Andrew, Alexander, and Tanner Skelton, aged 9, 7, and 5 at the time, disappeared in 2010 during Thanksgiving while in their father’s custody.
Lenawee County Judge Catherine Sala set their official date of death as November 26, 2010, granting their mother Tanya Zuvers’ request for closure.
Investigators believe the boys’ father, John Skelton, killed them, but he has not been charged with murder despite evidence suggesting his involvement.
Skelton is set to complete a 15-year prison sentence this November for unlawful imprisonment after failing to return the boys to their mother.
Extensive searches and investigations in Michigan and Ohio have failed to locate the boys’ remains, and their case remains unsolved.
