Overview

• Vladas Rupeika, 35, Nerijus Venckus, 36, and Peter Hoppe, 41, have been charged with rape-related offences and were remanded after appearances at Wimbledon and Croydon magistrates’ courts.
• Police were called to Fishponds Park shortly after 7am on August 21 following reports that a teenage girl had been drugged and sexually assaulted.
• A fourth man, 24, initially arrested on suspicion of sexual assault and administering a substance with intent, has been released under investigation.
• Forensic searches were conducted at the taped-off park as officers established a crime scene and continued evidence gathering.
• The Metropolitan Police say local patrols have been increased and anyone with information should call 101 quoting CAD 1207/21AUG, with the victim and her family supported by specialist officers.
