Three Men Charged in Brighton Beach Rape, Remanded to Court Today

Police say the fast-paced Operation Brampton inquiry is ongoing with no further suspects sought.

  • Officers received a report at about 5am on October 4 that a woman was raped on the lower esplanade in Brighton.
  • Abdulla Ahmadi, 25, of Crewe, and Karin Al-Danasurt, 20, and Ibrahim Alshafe, 25, of Horsham, have each been charged with two counts of rape.
  • The three suspects have been remanded in custody to appear before Brighton Magistrates’ Court on October 16.
  • Sussex Police say the 33-year-old victim is receiving support from specialist officers.
