Three Massachusetts Suspects Held Without Bail in Alleged Knifepoint Robbery at R.I. Casino

Police urge caution when approached by strangers at casinos.

Overview

  • Lincoln police said they responded around 1:43 a.m. on Dec. 29 to a reported robbery inside a hotel room at Bally’s Twin River Lincoln Casino Resort.
  • Investigators said two 19-year-olds, Naushka A. Machuca of Marlborough and Tashawana Tuckta of Boston, lured a patron from the casino floor to a room where 28-year-old Dominyck S. Sims of Worcester threatened him with a knife and took more than $1,500.
  • All three were arrested the same day and charged with first-degree robbery and conspiracy; Machuca and Sims also face disorderly conduct charges, and Sims is charged with carrying a prohibited weapon.
  • The suspects were arraigned in Kent County District Court in Warwick, where court records show no pleas were entered and a judge ordered them held without bail.
  • The victim told police he was allowed to leave but was told not to contact authorities, and Bally’s had not issued a comment in the reporting.
