Overview

• The collapse occurred around 1:30 am in the Kharwawad locality of Veraval in Gir Somnath district, police said.
• The deceased were identified as Dinesh Jungi, 34, motorbike rider; Devkiben Suyani, 65; and her daughter Jashoda, 35, who lived in the building.
• Suyani’s husband and another woman were pulled from the debris and taken to a hospital for treatment.
• Firefighters, police, civic personnel and local residents conducted rescue operations that continued until about 5:00 am.
