Overview

• Police said the fatalities occurred on Wednesday in three incidents reported across Jharkhand’s Gumla, Giridih and Koderma districts.
• In Gumla, 32-year-old Dhanbad resident Vishnu Lohar died after his motorcycle collided head-on with a carrier truck around 9 a.m. under Kadara police station limits.
• Lohar’s companion was injured and is receiving treatment at RIMS in Ranchi, and officers seized both vehicles involved in the Gumla crash.
• In Giridih, 23-year-old student Tridev Kumar Verma of Hadodih Sonardih was struck and killed by a speeding truck while heading to a library, and the driver fled with the vehicle as police launched a search.
• In Koderma, 55-year-old Saryu Rai was fatally hit by a truck near Baghmara Chowk on the Koderma–Kowar main road under Jainagar police station, according to police quoted by PTI.
