Overview
- A head-on collision between a white Honda CR‑V and a black Nissan Altima on Abbott Street left three people dead after the Honda crossed into the southbound lane at about 9:04 p.m. on Sunday, Oct. 4.
- The Monterey County coroner identified the victims as 19-year-old Abigail Tinoco, 18-year-old Sebastian Burgos, and 18-year-old Noah Trevino, and said two of them were recent college students.
- Both vehicles carried at least three occupants; the drivers, ages 21 and 20, survived and three other people were taken to Natividad Medical Center with major injuries.
- First responders sent multiple ambulances and alerted hospital staff to prepare for additional victims, and families have created GoFundMe pages that share the victims’ backgrounds and seek support.
